I write fiction when I want an imagined story to feel as true to others as it does to me. I write non-fiction when I need to reimagine a true story.
Reading is a mysterious process. We take what the writer gives us and make it completely our own. I love discussions and disagreements about books and any other art. Try standing in front of the same painting with another person and just spontaneously sharing what you see, and how it affects you. I bet those impressions will never be identical. And next time you look, they will probably change again.
Writing is, and should be, a very solitary activity. But once the book is born, and out in the world, writers really want to know how it connects with readers’ lives (if at all). Please consider this website as an opportunity to be in touch.
